QUALIFYING DATES FOR PAXTON CITY ELECTION – 8/26/14
Qualifying dates for Paxton City Election is noon, June 16th through noon June 20th. There are (3) City Council seats open or up for election this year. Qualifications for the City Council Seats are: you must reside inside the City limits of Paxton and you must be a registered voter in Walton County, Florida.
Books will close on Monday, July 28, 2014 for voter registration, 29 days before the Paxton City Election. Qualifying packets will be available at Paxton City Hall, located at 21872 U.S. Hwy 331 N. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. A qualifying fee of $5.00 is to be paid upon completion and return of a qualifying packet.
PAXTON CITY ELECTION WILL BE HELD FROM 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M., AUGUST 26, 2014 AT THE PAXTON AGRICULTURE BUILDING. For further information or to request an absentee ballet contact Suzan Imfeld , City Clerk at (850) 834-2489.
Paxton Branch of the Primary Care Clinic will be opening on December 3, 2013 at 21505 U.S Hwy 331 N. (next to the Sheriff substation) and will be open weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Mossy Head branch opens on December 2nd at 1483 Co. Road 1087 and will be open weekly on Mondays and Fridays 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

She is here to assist with completing applications for Florida KidCare, food stamps, Medicaid, cash assistance programs. She can also help with questions you have and reviewing document needed for benefits.

QUALIFYING PACKETS CAN BE OBTAINED AT THE CLERKS OFFICE IN PAXTON TOWN HALL, 21872 U.S. HWY 331 N, LAUREL HILL, FL 32567, MONDAY – FRIDAY 7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
NO PACKET CAN BE ACCEPTED AFTER 12:00 NOON (CST) ON JUNE 8, 2012.
All qualifications and elections for the offices of City councilmember and mayor shall be conducted on a nonpartisan basis without regard for or designation of political party affiliation of any nominee or any nomination petition or ballot.
QUALIFICATIONS ARE TO INCLUDE:
- MUST BE A REGISTERD WALTON COUNTY VOTER
- Candidate for the offices of City Councilmember and Mayor shall qualify for such office by the filing of a written notice of candidacy with the designated city official at such time and in such manner as may be prescribed by ordinance.
- MAYOR: Must have resided in the City for at least three (3) years prior to the date on which qualified to run for the office of Mayor.
COUNCILMEMBER: Must have resided in the City for at least (1) year prior to the date on which qualified to run for the office of City Council.
D. Candidate must complete Statement of Financial Interests.
E. Candidate must complete Candidate Oath – Nonpartisan Office.
F. $5.00 qualifying fee must be paid when completed documents are turned into Paxton City Clerk.

PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK IS APRIL 2 – 6, 2012
To celebrate Public Health Week, Walton County Health Department is providing FREE information and health screenings. Employees from Walton County Health Department will be set up at the Paxton Agriculture building (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) to provided the citizens of North Walton County with health information and screenings.
